TikTok trends: week of 5 October 2026

People post videos flexing their Arc'teryx jackets by showing how water beads off the hydrophobic fabric, often standing in the shower or rain while using the same 'Arc'teryx' audio by YT. The joke mocks flex culture by treating a technical outdoor jacket's water-repellent feature as a status symbol.

A comedic TikTok format where creators act out being robbed or having something taken from them, often with exaggerated or creative twists. Brands and individuals have jumped on it, using the setup to deliver punchlines or product plugs.

A fall-themed trend set to a Drake audio where users show how they're making the most of October, often highlighting fashion, lifestyle, or self-care moments. It's popular among fashion creators and brands for seasonal content.

A meme born from a promotional photo of adult content creator Bonnie Blue, where her intense blue-eyed stare is used as a reaction image for awkward, absurd, or intense situations, often edited into various contexts or compared to other characters and celebrities.

A hustle culture meme pairing images of stereotypically cool celebrities with lists of things to say to a given person, where the catch is that saying any of them would make the person mad.

A viral meme where people claim that the number of apples you can visualize spinning in your head correlates with your IQ, with higher numbers supposedly indicating genius-level intelligence. It originated from the concept of aphantasia (inability to create mental images) and evolved into ironic posts and parody videos mocking IQ bragging, including the 'IQ Maxx Wojak' meme.

A trend pairing dramatic Phantom of the Opera music with dark, autumn-themed outfits, implying the creator's favorite season has arrived.

A trend where creators display a series of outfits with a ceiling fan spinning as a transition, sometimes created with AI or manual editing.

A seasonal trend where creators show off their autumn wardrobe, often using Gilmore Girls audio or other cozy sounds, to celebrate the change of seasons.

An AI-generated video of a black cat with a human smile and hands that claps and tries to shake hands after being given food. It circulates as a green screen format where the cat is placed into absurd or relatable scenarios with funny captions, such as clapping in a bathroom stall while skipping class.

A multi-slide carousel where each slide features a split-screen image (top half black and white, bottom half full color) contrasting a bad period (e.g., '1 bad hour') with a positive reframe (e.g., 'You still have 23 hours'), progressing from bad hour to bad year, ending with 'You still have a whole life to build!'.

A video format using quick, inspiring b-roll clips of the creator working, creating, or undergoing a transformation (e.g., starting a business, weight loss), with a text overlay matching the lyrics 'take a chance cause you might grow' from Gwen Stefani's 'What You Waiting For?' to show real progress.

A clip from a 2023 Kai Cenat stream where Fanum indignantly throws a plate of broccoli behind him and leaves the room; in 2026, an edit added a huge explosion right after the throw, turning it into a template for expressing 'I don't care anymore' or violently dismissing something, often used in relatable everyday situations.

Users reverse-engineer and combine two existing video games into one playable hybrid using AI, popularized by an X user named Chasm who merged Skate with other games and Call of Duty with Minecraft. The resulting mashups look like AI videos but are purportedly playable, and dozens of examples have spread across sites like X.

A meme from a Genius interview where the artist Khantrast sings his song 'She Buggin' with awkward pauses and no auto-tune, repeatedly saying 'baby you buggin'. People mock the awkward silence, joke that bugs are named after the phrase, and create edits and comments about it.
